Never skip leg day, well why not?

'Never skip leg day' is a popular expression in the fitness world. Leg day is about training your leg muscles. And that's important. In this blog we explain the benefits of training your legs. Bring on leg day!

Your legs are the biggest muscle group in your body. And one of the most important too. After all, you use your legs every single day that comes round. So, your legs deserve to be kept in the best possible shape. Working out your legs has a positive effect on your whole body and your sports performance.

Better sports performance

If your legs are strong, your sports performance will be much better than if your legs are unfit. If you're a footballer, you'll be able to run after the ball faster and, if you're a basketball player, you'll be able to jump higher. All because your legs are stronger. You'll be more powerful and, with fit legs, and you'll also reduce your risk of injury!

Strong lower back

Did you know if you work out your legs your lower back gets stronger too? This is especially important if you spend a lot of time sitting down. If you regularly have a leg day, you reduce your risk of back problems.

Burn more calories

Exercising big muscle groups uses more energy than exercising smaller muscles. This means you automatically burn more calories too. Useful if you want to lose a bit of weight!

Improve your balance

Fit leg muscles massively improve your balance and stability, something that's always useful! You have better control over your body. You'll see improvements as you go about your day-to-day life, but also in sports like dance and gymnastics or extreme sports where you need to have good balance.

Enjoy superhero powers, every day of the week

Even if you're not a sportsperson, it's worth having a regular leg day. Think of the everyday benefits: lifting heavy objects, carrying shopping or shifting furniture when moving house suddenly become a lot easier if you have a strong lower body and you are used to bending and going down with your knees.

Looking good

And finally, you simply look great with fit legs!
